What is the NAMI Walk?

The annual NAMI Walk is our way to help raise awareness in the community and fight the stigma of mental illness. It is also the main fundraising event for our NAMI Topeka affiliate programs.

Participants write letters or send emails to their friends and family members, to tell them how their lives have been personally affected by mental illness, and to ask them to help support NAMI Topeka by making a donation.

We will have contests and prizes along the way for different fundraising and team-building goals, and we'll explain in more detail just how you can be a successful Walker.

How do we use the funds?

Your participation in the NAMIWalk enables NAMI Topeka to continue our mission of education, support and advocacy for those affected by mental illness. Proceeds help fund our programs, which we offer at NO COST to all participants

Why do we offer our programs for free? Because NAMI recognizes that mental illness can affect every area of one’s life, including finances. Offering our services for free eases the burden.

NAMI Topeka is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.  All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

How can I get involved?

There are multiple ways you can make a difference with NAMIWalks: as a sponsor, committee member, team captain, team member, individual walker, or volunteer!
